The last couple of nights have seen a heavy frost here.  Down to -4•C last night. Pretty, but will sadly damage the last of the tender plants in the garden unless action has been taken beforehand.Frost is normally formed on still, clear and cold nights. Clear

Leaves, leaves and more leaves

The nights are drawing in, and the trees are preparing for winter dormancy. The brilliant colours that we all delight in are caused by the green chlorophyll disappearing from their leaves. As the bright green fades away, the yellow and orange colours become more visible.
